Keith Cowans

first began absorbing Salsa dance when he was a very small child at the famous Watsonville group meetings of Fuego Latino. He was exposed to the rich and exciting world of Salsa and Salsa Rueda by his mother, Rosa Cowans. Keith described that his candle was lit for Salsa when he went to a competition in San Jose and saw a new style he had never seen before. At that moment he decided to make this dance his own and has been developing his style and his teaching skills for many years since.

Keith also currently performs with the renowned dance troupe Tandy Beale and Company in the Santa Cruz County area.

He teaches Latin Dance in afterschool programs in Watsonville throughout the Pajaro Valley Unified School District. He was Captain of a Salsa group for a time.

Keith also teaches our weekly Kids' Capoeira class, and is a student of Mestre Papibha Godhino of Raizes do Brasil.

Keith makes learning Salsa intriguing, and can help students polish up their moves from the beginning level to advanced dancers. His focus at our studio is on Salsa Rueda style. Check the schedule for his classes!
