The year 2008 brought Sally to Bikram Yoga and, almost simultaneously, the discovery of Bhakti Flow with Rusty Wells in San Francisco. She was immediately captivated with the trance like state of meditation obtained in the Bikram practice. The physical challenge, light heartedness, and celebration at Urban Flow lit her fire and passion for yoga as a path to self discovery. She completed her Bikram training in 2012 and shortly after discovered the Ashtanga Primary Series. In 2014 she completed her 200hr Vinyasa training with Les Leventhal. Her classes are deeply rooted in her trainings with an emphasis on alignment, building strength in poses, mindful transitions, and breath.
Sally is passionate about yoga as a path to self-discovery through acceptance, creative living, and being part of a healthy community. In her class, she invites people to become aware of the breath, get curious about their experience and to challenge themselves to be present in the moment. She is deeply committed to being a positive force in discovering our individual truths through the use of asanas which facilitate healing and growth. As Sally sees it, yoga is about celebration and honor, grounding through an awareness of breath and a little bit of laughter. Life can be a busy and serious place, yoga reminds us to slow down, savour the moment and find the joy that resides within. You can find Sally on Instagram: SallyVida.
