Heidi Brown

is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.

Heidi says:

"Self-realization and selfless service motivate me to practice and teach yoga. When serving as a teacher, it is my intention to offer a strengths-based approach with a focus on accessibility and compassion, especially in places where people are experiencing challenges.

The classes I teach are guided by a trauma-informed Yoga approach, including a combination of movement, breath and mindfulness. Options and modifications are provided that support students to develop an inner experience of the forms, nudging up against their range of motion without pushing too far.

My training in yoga therapy began in 1993 at Kabir Baug in Pune, India. Since then I have studied yoga and mindfulness at Niroga Institute in Oakland, CA where I completed a 200 hr yoga instructor and 800 hr yoga therapist training. Throughout this journey I have taught yoga and mindfulness to young athletes, in juvenile halls, schools, and in hospitals.  I am excited to be teaching here at WYDHA."

I would like to express gratitude to my teachers B.K. Bose, Rosalind Lwin, the diverse faculty of Niroga’s Yoga Therapy program, Aeja Mobley and Dr. Karandikar.
