Wind Sands, Ballet Instructor
Wind’s mother told her; “The first time you stood up, You began to dance!”
This love of dance is still in Wind’s heart and spirit today.
Wind began studying in the discipline of classical ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance in Canada as a small child. She continues to study dance practices, and history, from all over the world, from African and Belly Dance, to Kahiko Hula, Latin styles, Samba and more.
Wind Sands has directed, and choreographed musical theatre and taught dance throughout the Santa Cruz County school system, and for the cities of Capitola and Watsonville.
Her experience includes completion of an internship with the Live Oak School District counselor; with responsibilities including supervising children and teens, identifying and assisting students who might benefit from behavioral intervention, as well as providing educational support; and teaching English as a second language.
Wind is also a Fitness and Lifestyle Coach. Providing, group exercise classes,pilates,body sculpting and ballet core fitness. Wind has taught ZUMBA Fitness at various fitness clubs, schools, and for the Capitola Recreation Department.
